Blossom
The Prompt: Design, make, and batch produce a product design that aligns with the Kikkerland company brand identity to prepare a fictional product concept pitch to the company.
The Product: A flower shaped sponge with an ergonomic handle to bring both joy and comfort to your cleaning experience
About the Sponge: Sustainable. Joyful. Twice the life of a normal sponge. These tree-cellulose based sponges expand when in contact with water and can last up to 2 months.
The Blossom sponge is 100% biodegradable and can be replaced as necessary while using the same handle, helping to decrease plastic waste.
Interviews
We interviewed a diverse range of users to ask them about what is important to them when it comes to kitchenware and cleaning products. Our users included students, working professionals, and stay at home parents as well.
Process
This project was done in a team of 3 people and we had 7 weeks to complete it. Pictured below is our process of developing the sponge and handle, developing the attachment method, and the batch production process. Click on the images to expand.
